That's the warm glow of a Days Inn parking lot in Baton Rouge on a cool Sunday night. [lol] What I unfortunately can't show you are the three illuminated crosses immediately to my left. I don't think I've ever seen any so large, and they were just outside my window. I tried to take a photograph, but with no light and no tripod I only captured blurry.
However, I have good news. I met a lot of nice people, scored a 98 on my test, and I arrived home safely. I still don't have any specifics on when I'll begin training and working as a boilermaker, but this was my last hurdle to clear. Now that I have the test behind me I believe I can expect a call in within the next two to four weeks.
Now, it's just good to be back. :)

Help

Ah Yes, Illuminated crosses. Just what the world needs to save humanity.
SOOOOOOOO glad you are back!
i thought you were going for awhile, but one day was bad enough without you here!
Congrats on the 98!
XOXO
OUTSTANDING!!! I'm so excited for you!!! And sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to hear of your next great accomplishment!!!
Big hug!

Aww shucks… I wish I could have taken you two both me. I bet we would have eaten better than McDonals and 7/11. ;)
Yeah….
I would have INSISTED on the buffet, pronounced (buff-'et) at Western Sizzlin - or some other fine eatin' 'stablishment where you can put yer feet up on the table and throw peanut shells on the floor! :-)
..and soft serve ice cream! lol
I have not been to Baton Rouge since 1978. Are the women still as curly haided, good-lookin' and friendly as they were then? I can't help asking; that's what I most remember about that town…hehehe.
Welcome home. Good show and all that.
Hey J.K., congratulations on the 98%!! (btw the scary illuminated crosses story reminds me of once staying in an inn in Spain with a crucified Jesus mounted right above the headboard – had some crazy nightmares!!)
Rick, I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes. I have a hunch that you visited LSU.. ;)
And hi, Andy. I honestly didn't know what to think about the crosses. Because I've spent some time studying gnosticism and Christian mysticism, plus just in general because of my childhood upbringing, I had an appreciation for what was there. However, at the same time I knew that the crosses weren't erected with anything I understand in mind. It left me a little bewildered. However, I think I can say with certainty that the companion inflatable Jesus, which I didn't see, is just way too much! haha
Hey J.K., I hear ya, and I certainly didn't mean any disrespect by my comment, the cross is rich with symbolism and practically universal, (but quite frankly I do personally find the focus on torture that is the crucifix quite unsettling on many levels – which is perhaps the point of it I suppose). But I'll look for that massive inflatable Jesus next time I'm passing through, wow!!!
